Railways has took over Rs 500-crore plan to provide their passenger coaches with eco-friendly toilet system. The cost of this project is being collective by the ministry of rural development so that they improve hygiene in toilets of Indian railway.
With the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) the railways had earlier signed an MoU to develop such a toilet system.
According to the Railway Board official, railways has set orders to its coach manufacturing factories at Kapurthala in Punjab and Perambur in Tamil Nadu for manufacturing the new coaches fitted with green toilet system. about 436 new coaches manufacturing factories have so far built this green toilets in to cater to the needs of passengers, as said by the board officials. They have been manufacturing about 4,000 per year.
After looking at this, we expect that the Indian railway is soon gonna get a lot of changes and will give many better facilities.
